About ‘The Clare’
The Clare Concertina is designed by the Irish Concertina Company Dublin as an upgrade from starter Chinese made and Stagi type instruments.
These higher grade concertinas are made from good quality materials and fast responsive finely tuned Italian reeds that produce good volume and tone with minimal effort. The springs are set at a tension that enables the musician to easily execute the required ornamentation so essential for development and performance at sessions and competition.
The reeds sit into a groove on the reed plate locking them firmly in position for accuracy of tuning and reliability. The Reed pans are made from seasoned maple for excellent tone and are sealed into the outer frame using chamois leather eliminating air leaks due to temperature and humidity variations inevitable throughout the many years life expected from these quality instruments.
These concertinas are highly respected as good session and competition instruments.
